Bee Cave Public Library Opens in New Space

Posted by : pbryson on Wednesday, December 31, 1969 - 06:00 PM CST

Bee Cave Public Library opened its doors Thursday evening to more than 450 people eager to see the new library and check out the 2,000 new items added to the collection. As excited children streamed through the doors to visit with Santa, the adults in the crowd admired the beautiful new library housed in the City Hall at the heart of the Hill Country Galleria, across from the amphitheater. As part of the city's annual holiday open house, "Santa Bee" cookies and punch were offered in the two-story atrium between the library and the council chambers of City Hall. Inside the library, Mrs. Claus (also known as library staffer Laurie Works) read stories and helped children decorate ornaments for the library's tree. Adults and kids alike had fun wearing the foam reindeer antlers proclaiming "Season's Readings @ Bee Cave Public Library."
