HOLIDAY HOURS: The Library will be closed Thanksgiving Weekend beginning at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27. We will resume regular hours at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3. The outdoor book returns on the west side of the building will remain open for your convenience.
FIVE STAR RANKING AGAIN! Bee Cave Public Library is honored to announce it has been selected as a Five-Star Library for the fourth year in a row by Library Journal. The 2013 LJ Index of Public Library Service rated Bee Cave as one of only 5 public libraries in Texas to receive the highest ranking. Ratings are based on annual visits, circulations, program attendance and computer usage. Thank you to all our patrons for making us your Five Star Library!
ANNOUNCING ZINIO FOR LIBRARIES! We are now pleased to announce the availability of Zinio for Libraries, the world’s largest newsstand. KNITTING CLUB: Thursday, December 5 at 7 pm. Join us for an evening of crafting conversation. Bring your current stitchery project, or start one from the communal yarn basket. Meets in the library the first Thursday of each month from 7 to 8 pm.
TEEN ADVISORY BOARD MEETING: Saturday, December 7 at 2 pm. Get service hours by joining our Teen Advisory Board! Spend an hour each month coming up with ideas on how to make the library a cool place for teens. E-READER 101: Wednesday, December 11 from 10 am – Noon, the Techie will be IN to answer your E-reader questions or help you learn to navigate OverDrive, the library’s source for free downloadable e-books and audiobooks, or Zinio, our new source for digital magazines. Reserve a spot by calling 512-767-6626 or just drop by, but be sure to bring your e-reader, tablet, or other device.
BEE CAVE BOOK CLUB NEWS: The BEE CAVE BOOK CLUB meets once a month to discuss an eclectic and interesting selection of fiction and nonfiction. The BCBC is an informal and diverse group of all ages who come together to share a love of reading and relaxed conversation. We welcome all new members, and invite everyone who is interested to join us, even if you have not read the book. For a complete list of dates and titles, please see the 2013 Bee Cave Book Club Selections. The club generally meets on the second Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm in the library, with the exception of February. Any changes in the meeting location or date will be announced on this site, on our Facebook page or in our monthly newsletter. FUN FOR KIDS: Check out TumbleBooks, a collection of animated, talking picture books, puzzles and games! TumbleBooks are created from existing picture books which have been licensed from children's book publishers and converted to the TumbleBook format. If you are unable to view the books you can download the Flash plug-in for free at www.macromedia.com.

Storytime offers parents, caregivers, and children a chance to have fun, enjoy books together, sing songs, learn fingerplays, and share the joy of reading. Storytime on Fridays features shorter sessions for toddlers’ shorter attention spans, but any age is welcome either day. Storytime is held in Community Room B, above the library. If you are running late, please enter quietly and join us on the floor. We look forward to having you!
