As part of their Grand Opening Week, the new Whole Foods Market® in Bee Cave has chosen the Friends of Bee Cave Public Library to benefit from its Community Giving Day on Thursday, May 17th. Shop at Whole Foods Market that day, and 1% of the proceeds will be donated to the Friends of the Library!

Topics include Animals, The Arts, History & Biography, Literature & Languages, Math & Computers, Reference, Science, and Social Studies. These sites have been evaluated by the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association. The sites are carefully selected using established criteria, and are relevant, appropriate, and accessible!

BEE CAVE BOOK CLUB NEWS – NEW DAY & LOCATION – NEW YEAR OF GREAT BOOKS!
The Bee Cave Book Club is an informal and diverse group of all ages who come together to share a love of reading and relaxed conversation. The BCBC meets once a month to discuss an eclectic and interesting selection of fiction and nonfiction. We welcome all new members, and invite everyone who is interested to join us, even if you have not read the book. For a complete list of dates and titles, please see the 2012 BEE CAVE BOOK CLUB SELECTIONS. Beginning in January, the club will meet on the first Thursday of each month at the Library at 7 pm. We're 2 for 2! For the second consecutive year, Bee Cave Public Library has received a five-star rating in Library Journal's national rating of public libraries, the LJ Index of Public Library Service 2011. Five stars is the highest rating that a library can receive. Only 85 libraries across the country received this rating which compares libraries of similar size and budgets based on the annual number of visits, circulation, program attendance and public Internet computer use. Thanks for making us your 5-star library!

FUN FOR KIDS: Check out TumbleBooks, a collection of animated, talking picture books, puzzles and games! TumbleBooks are created from existing picture books which have been licensed from children's book publishers and converted to the TumbleBook format. Once storytime has begun, the doors will close, so please be on time. If you’re running late, please enjoy books and coloring in the library until the second session is ready to start. We appreciate your cooperation as we adapt to our growing population of future readers and their grown-ups!
